Vivacious Varietals
What a stellar year 2019 proved to be at Scotchmans Hill, with the development of the estate and further plantings within the vineyards. 2019 was also a knockout year in the Halliday Wine Companion, with fifteen of the estate’s wines receiving 94 points and above, complementing its place in James Halliday’s Top 100 Australian Wineries and 5-red star winery rating. The main house has undergone a recent renovation, and a new standalone bar area separate to the cellar door is now open. The larger function space is perfect for weddings, engagements, hen parties and corporate events. On top of extending its current holdings on shiraz, pinot noir and chardonnay, Scotchmans Hill has included a number of new varietals to its property. The planting of gamay, albarino, fiano and sangiovese indicates the winery’s unwavering commitment to innovation within the region. With the inclusion of more diverse, estate-grown grape varietals, Scotchmans Hill continues to help promote the Bellarine Peninsula as a premium wine region and destination.
