Trentham Estate’s 2023 Reserve Heathcote Shiraz has achieved international acclaim, winning Best in Show at the 2025 Decanter World Wine Awards. With more than 18,000 wines blind-tasted, this exceptional red stood out, earning an impressive 97 points from a panel of the world’s most respected wine authorities – including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers and regional experts. Wines are judged across several rigorous rounds based on balance, complexity, typicity and character.
The DWWA is the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, renowned for its credibility and depth of assessment. Wines are meticulously grouped by origin, grade, style, vintage and price,
ensuring only the finest are awarded. The 2023 Reserve Heathcote Shiraz also secured a coveted spot in the Top 50 Wines of 2025, a list representing just 0.3% of total entries, and showcasing elite wines from fourteen countries.
In addition to this remarkable honour, Trentham Estate’s 2024 Reserve Adelaide Hills Chardonnay and 2021 Reserve Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon received silver medals with scores of 92 and 91 respectively, while the 2024 vermentino from The Family range earned bronze. These accolades highlight Trentham Estate’s continued excellence and commitment to producing world-class Australian wines.
