Trentham Estate Celebrates Its Thirty-Fifth Anniversary
Having produced wine under its own label since 1984, Trentham Estate winery opened the doors of its riverfront cellar door and restaurant in August 1988. The venue was an exciting new showcase establishment for the Murray Darling wine region, for locals to bring visiting family and friends to and attracting many visitors enjoying time in the area.
Today, the winery remains a must-visit. Over the years, plenty has grown and changed with the times, but the ‘Trentham experience’ of good food and wine matched with quality service and stunning views has always remained as first envisioned by the Murphy family.
The winery continues to thrive, crushing 5000 tonnes each vintage, with the majority grown in the Murphy vineyards adjacent to the estate. Over twenty different wines are produced consistently by the small yet dynamic team, allowing Trentham Estate to hold a strong position in the domestic and international wine markets.
Trentham is very proud of, and humbled by, the many awards it has collected over the journey – including hundreds of wine show medals, an impressive array of wine trophies and various business awards. As it moves into its thirty-sixth year the accolades continue to come as Trentham Estate is shortlisted for Best Value Winery of the Year for the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Awards.
Trentham Estate is incredibly appreciative of the many locals and visitors who have come and enjoyed the winery over the last thirty-five years. This milestone also wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the team of staff during this time.
Reflecting upon their journey, the Murphy family look forward to continuing to produce its quality varietal wines and welcome many more visitors to its cellar door and restaurant.
