Special Anniversary for Sparkling Shiraz
Grampians Estate’s Rutherford sparkling shiraz celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2024. Grampians Estate will be celebrating that milestone with a special tasting event of back vintages during the Grampians Wine Region ‘Wine Month’ in October 2024 at its cellar door at Great Western. Great Western is considered the home of sparkling shiraz, having been produced firstly by Hans Irvine in 1890 and continued by Seppelt.
Winemaker, Tom Guthrie, says it has been an extremely popular wine for Grampians Estate over the last twenty years. His policy of using some of his vineyard’s best shiraz has been earned many significant awards, including sixteen trophies at wine shows and a Winestate Magazine Best Sparkling trophy, for Australian and New Zealand red and white sparklings. Keep an eye on the website for details of Grampians Estate’s celebratory event and come and taste the very best vintages of the last twenty years.
