Grampians Estate has been awarded Champion Small Winery of Show for two consecutive years at the 2018 Australian Small Winemakers Show (ASWS) held in Stanhope, Queensland. The event saw more than a thousand entries from hundreds of wineries across Australia, and Grampians Estate took home the overall title with four gold and four bronze medals for its eight entries.
“The long, slow ripening period of the 2017 vintage always pointed to producing some above-average aromatic wines, and the results at this show proved just that,” owner and winemaker Tom Guthrie says.
The 2017 Grampians Estate Cabernet Sauvignon won the Preben Jacobson Steward’s Choice Trophy for best gold medal wine of the show, which is an astounding result, as this was the first time the winery created the variety.
“It is a great result for the entire Grampians wine region,” Guthrie says.
These award-winning wines can be sampled at the cellar door, which is open 10:00am – 5:00pm daily.
