The Bridge Vineyard

The Bridge Vineyard

Just 5- kilometres north of the Heathcote township, The Bride Vineyard is a hidden gem nestled in the tranquil valley. This beautiful secret opens from Bridge Way, dipping down to the valley floor, complete with a beautiful stone bridge that gains you access to the sprawling vineyards. A small wine-growing property, The Bridge Vineyard is humble about its quality wines and the peacefulness found on the property.

Its first plantings were made almost twenty-five years ago in 1998, when the site was chosen for its potential and superior climate conditions for creating premium red wines. Part of this land’s lucrative climate and earth is due to east facing slopes, deep Cambrian soil, elevation, soil minerals and it being frost free. All The Bridge Vineyard’s wines are produced with a view to their structure for extended ageing. They can be enjoyed as a balanced and complex wine over dinner or shared between loved ones.

The Bridge Vineyard was the catalyst for a separate range of wines called Knots, made from grapes sourced from the neighbouring Central Victorian Bendigo wine region. The grapes harvested for the Knots range of wines are only obtained from older, superior vineyards. Careful curation of grapes allows The Bridge Vineyard’s winemaker, Lindsay Ross, to create a range of wines that display the exceptional qualities of the Bendigo region. Guests are encouraged to ascend the valley slopes to The Bridge Vineyard’s cellar door that boasts magnificent views of this pretty little valley.

Tasting Notes

Fiano
⇐ 2021 Knots Rosé Lashing Arinto

This wine is considered the Arinto queen of the Portuguese white grapes. Grown in the dry climate of Portugal’s North, it is also ideally suited to the Heathcote terroir. A dry style of wine with a fruity lift and acidity of riesling and yet the palate weight of chardonnay.

Vermentino
⇐ 2018 The Bridge Shiraz

This is an exceptional vintage of fully ripe shiraz fruits, made without additives and matured in French oak casks for twenty months. It has a deep ruby red colour with a bouquet of red cherry and cedar notes. The palate has intense, dark fruit notes and finely balanced acid.
