settings in Australia. New owners, husband and wife, Toni Pla Bou and Leonie Martino, are committed to realising the full potential of the estate. They are sympathetically nurturing the vineyard, and producing high-quality wines that express the place and time of their making.

Toni Pla Bou brigs a wealth of experience to Star Lane. First beginning his winemaking journey in 1997, he has worked across Australia and France, honing his understanding of the relationship between the winemaker and the vineyard.

The vines planted in 1997 are now producing grapes of extraordinary flavour intensity, varietal definition and site expression. The grape varieties grown on the site are ideally suited to its geology, morphology and meteorology. The wines produced are thoughtfully crafted, and matured in a selection of oak barrels, as well as in terracotta amphorae.

Currently offering the much-loved varietals Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Merlot and Shiraz, the estate is broadening its horizons to produce Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Roussanne, Fiano and Gamay in future years.

Star Lane’s selection of wines are a unique expression of the Beechworth region. The cellar door, tucked away in a gentle valley with verdant gardens, abundant birdlife and breathtaking views of the Victorian Alps, is a delight not to be missed.

Open 11am to 5pm Friday to Monday and any other day by appointment, visitors can enjoy personalised tastings of current vintages, accompanied by a selection of cheese and
charcuterie platters.
