SALLY’S PADDOCK
SALLY’S PADDOCK
Established in the rich soil of the Pyrenees, Sally’s Paddock at Redbank Winery is a must-visit destination in the heart of Western Victoria. Operating with eighteen hectares of carefully tended vines onsite, Sally’s Paddock specialises in red varieties, producing exceptional single-varietal wines – including a full-bodied pinot noir, a worldclass cabernet franc, a complex malbec, a delectable shiraz and a tantalising merlot. However, the winery’s true craftsmanship shines through in its blended varieties. The flagship wine, Sally’s Paddock, unites shiraz, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, malbec and merlot in an outstanding blend. With a traditional winemaking method, minimal intervention and handpicked grapes, every sip is the result of meticulous, high-class winemaking.
The diversity of the winery’s offerings is impressive in its breadth – with a more entry level range provided under the Sasha label. The crisp pinot noir and delicious shiraz, made from estate-grown grapes, offer the depth and complexity of the winery’s other wines while remaining smooth and easy to drink.
The winery’s rich history is as noteworthy as the wines it produces. In 1973, Neill and Sally Robb established Sally’s Paddock, continuing operations as a family-owned business to this day. Neill’s father, John Robb, was the pioneering foundation manager of Blue Pyrenees (formerly Chateau Remy), so starting Sally’s Paddock, backed by deep Pyrenees viticulture expertise, was a natural next step. 2023 marked fifty years since the planting of the vineyard. Together, the team celebrated a half century of family dedication and winemaking excellence.
The winery features a stunning cellar door crafted from handmade bricks, a cosy shingle clad roof, and impressive ironbark beams and benches – making it an ideal setting for a wine tasting experience. The onsite restaurant, The Flying Pig Deli, offers light lunches, espresso coffee and a scrumptious selection of Sally’s homemade sausage rolls, cakes, jams and relishes. With accommodation in the Chestnut Cottage, a two-storey mud brick home built by Sally and Neill themselves, there is no reason not to soak in the winery views and drink up what it has to offer.
