A NEW SPACE FOR ENTERTAINMENT  

Narkoojee Winery has recently decided to improve its ability to cater for functions involving higher numbers such as weddings, corporate events and end of year and other special functions.

The winery chose a construction design that could be completed quickly. It has been built in the grounds of the Narkoojee Winery within the licensed area and is an attractive structure that was designed to appeal to the members of the various groups who will be using it.

The structure has incorporated the strong steel frames and columns used for a high-quality permanent marquee in which the base plates of the columns are fixed in place by long, treated steel rods. The usual canvas cladded walls of a marquee have been replaced by attractively coloured corrugated iron sheeting as seen in the accompanying photo.

Views of the nearby vineyard and the eucalypt trees of the bushland beyond have been preserved using sliding windows along the appropriate walls.

The main entrance features two very striking, large, floor to ceiling, sliding timber doors. Another feature highlighting the entrance, are racks of oaken wine barrels stacked three high lined up on each side. These features can be seen in the photo.

Inside the building at one end, is a small-platform stage and the ceiling is adorned by attractive lighting and features an optimum number of fans. Heating and cooling is achieved by the use of split system units.
