Nestled in the ancient Pyalong granites of the Macedon Ranges, Kyneton Ridge is a vineyard and family-run estate redefining cool-climate elegance. From regenerative viticulture to minimal-intervention winemaking, the Woods family brings depth, precision, and provenance to every bottle. With small-batch classics like Skipping Rabbit Pinot Noir and vibrant Vermentino. In addition to the cellar door, the estate features a café and art space, this winery is where terroir meets creativity, both on and off the vine.  

The estate has been owned by Angela and Andrew Wood since 2019. They were joined by their winemaker son Patrick and his partner Greta in 2022 and together they have expanded and upgraded the vineyard, winemaking and café facilities. First established in the 1990s, and producing just 2000 cases a year, Kyneton Ridge has a tradition of making award winning pinot noir, chardonnay, shiraz and sparkling wine. The much appreciated and critically acclaimed 2024 Skipping Rabbit Pinot Noir was awarded Best Pinot Noir Trophy at the 2025 Victorian Wine Show (ninety-seven points) and was a worthy successor of the highly rated 2023 Pinot Noir Reserve (ninety-six Points Huon Hooke). 

The winery offers hosted wine tastings at its cellar door and an on-site café – Ridge Café – where guests can treat themselves to the contemporary and seasonal menu designed to perfectly complement the winery’s fine table wines.  

Guest facilities at Kyneton Ridge Estate have recently undergone major renovations to provide a contemporary but casual café dining and cellar door experiences.  

The addition of the Ridge Art Space was designed to promote local talent in the region. Managed by the founding couple’s artist daughter Jordan, the space provides opportunity for emerging and established artists to showcase their work in a dedicated gallery.  

Bounded by Blackhill Reserve, Kyneton Ridge presents an array of native wildlife, including the daily migration of the kangaroo mob.
