Kyneton Ridge Estate
Kyneton Ridge Estate
These beautiful vines that enrich the Macedon landscape were planted twenty-five years ago. The estate has been owned by Angela and Andrew Wood since 2019, where they have expanded and upgraded the vineyard, winemaking and café facilities. Situated among the rolling hills of the Macedon Ranges, Kyneton Ridge Estate is located just one hour northwest of Melbourne.
Established in the 1990s, Kyneton Ridge Estate has a tradition of making fine pinot noir, chardonnay, shiraz and sparkling wine. With a strong focus on vine health through applying regenerative agriculture principles, new plantings and innovative wine making, the winery aims to respect and build upon this beautiful tradition.
Producing 18,000 bottles a year, the winery specialises in creating delicious pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling pinot chardonnay. Having won Winery of the Year at the Daylesford wine show in 2016, Kyneton Ridge Estate is a magnificent estate that suits all palates.
The winery offers exquisite wine tastings at its cellar door and has its very own on-site café – Ridge Café, where guests can treat themselves to its contemporary and seasonal menu designed to complement the winery’s fine table wines. Guest facilities at Kyneton Ridge Estate have recently undergone major renovations to provide a contemporary but casual café dining and cellar door experience. The addition of an art space within the café has provided the opportunity for emerging and established artists to showcase their work. Bounded by Blackhill Reserve, the space presents an array of native wildlife, including the daily migration of the kangaroo mob.
As well as benefitting the local community, Kyneton Ridge Estate is continuously expanding its vineyard. With four hectares currently under vine, with the addition of a further two hectares being planted in 2023, the Woods and Kyneton Ridge Estate are excited to see what the future holds.
