De Bortoli Wines
Less than one hour’s drive from Melbourne’s CBD, the De Bortoli Wines Yarra Valley estate is a vibrant, family-friendly winery that overlooks the valley’s rolling hills. Enjoy the views and warm hospitality while sharing good wine, good food and great times with family and friends. De Bortoli Wines was established in 1928 by Vittorio and Giuseppina De Bortoli in Bilbul, New South Wales. Since then, the family has purchased vineyards in some of Australia’s best-known wine regions across Victoria and New South Wales, including the Yarra Valley, King Valley, Heathcote and Hunter Valley regions.
The Yarra Valley estate is managed by third generation family member Leanne De Bortoli and her husband, De Bortoli Wines’ chief winemaker Steve Webber. The winery comprises 240 hectares of vines, some of which are more than 40 years old. During your visit, you can taste wines from the estate’s Yarra Valley range as well as from its additional wine regions including the newest addition; Lusatia Park.
Recently awarded Gourmet Traveller Wines’ Best Large Cellar Door, the professional and attentive De Bortoli Wines team will customise your tasting experience. If you fancy something a little more exclusive, indulge in a specialty gourmet tasting, which includes the De Bortoli Wines Yarra Valley Single Vineyard, as well as the family’s iconic De Bortoli Noble One, all matched with indulgent cheeses. Purchase a platter of cheese to enjoy while tasting wine or revel in the beautifully landscaped gardens, where there are shaded picnic tables and a children’s playground.
De Bortoli’s restaurant, Locale, features stunning vineyard views and a menu which has been designed to feature the best seasonal produce from the Yarra Valley, including ingredients grown right at the winery. Year-round, you’re invited to enjoy home-made pasta and authentic Italian risotto, with a selection of beautiful home-style dishes.

This delicate blanc de blancs-style sparkling wine holds good weight and balance. With notes of citrus, hazelnuts and brioche, it has a complex and lifted aroma. This cuveé blanc is perfect on its own or can be enjoyed with freshly shucked oysters.
⇐ De Bortoli Villages Yarra Valley Chardonnay
This Yarra Valley chardonnay was crafted from vineyards surrounding the villages of Dixons Creek, Tarrawarra and Woori Yallock. It is a complex and textural wine with hints of citrus florals, cashew and spice, and holds a touch of creaminess. This wine will pair beautifully with pan-fried fish.
⇐ De Bortoli The Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir
This elegant pinot noir was crafted from the estate vineyard in Dixons Creek. It displays alluring red-fruit aromatics and is plump, minerally and textural. Serve with gnocchi and pork ragu.
