Baileys of Glenrowan
Baileys of Glenrowan
Established in 1870, Baileys of Glenrowan is a certified organic vineyard that has an enviable reputation for producing rich, luscious wines and world-class fortifieds. The boutique vineyard is steeped in history and heritage, with over 145 years of winemaking experience and the famed 1904 Block being one of the oldest vineyards in North-East Victoria. The notable 1904 Block Shiraz from the vineyard is completely dry grown, resulting in fruit of rare flavour and intensity.
The spectacular Warby Ranges provides a unique grape-growing climate with cool air flowing down from the ranges, tempered by warmer airflow from the nearby Winton Wetlands. In the hot summer months, the wetlands act like a giant air-conditioner, cooling the land and vineyards at night. The Glenrowan region is renowned for its luscious, fortified wines and rich red wine styles, a product of the area’s deep, red granite soils.
Baileys of Glenrowan is proud to showcase the heritage of the award-winning winery, and how traditional techniques evolve to reflect the modern winemaking expertise of the wine making team. Baileys of Glenrowan will continue to cherish the history and integrity of the winery for generations to come.
Baileys of Glenrowan is the perfect spot for intimate functions – a magical place with incredible scenery, situated between the granite rich Warby Ranges and picturesque Winton Wetlands.
Applying their passion for organic farming and food, Baileys of Glenrowan opened the Bundarra Organic Kitchen, expanding the original vegetable patch and chicken coop to now produce their own seasonal produce and free range eggs to use in the kitchen. All the kitchen staples and supplies for the restaurant have been converted to certified organic, including meat, dry goods and dairy. The kitchen surrounds itself around a much-loved brick woodfire pizza oven and the menu offers a range of seasonal meals including organic wood-fired pizzas and gorgeous platters, cheeseboards and house-made organic cakes and desserts.
Visitors are encouraged to stroll the historic grounds and view the well-preserved links to the past, including the original 1870 winery, Clydesdale stables and blacksmith’s forge. The expansive native gardens are yet another feature, providing a stunning visual backdrop, ever-changing with the seasons.
