A.T. Richardson Wines

A.T. Richardson Wines

A.T. Richardson Wines came to life in 2005 when owner Adam Richardson returned to his roots in Australia after 20 years of winemaking around the world. international wine companies, Richardson applied his skills to develop having worked extensively for the seven-hectare Hard Hill Road vineyard and winery from the ground up.

Specialising in cool-climate wines that perfectly reflect its Great Western vineyard, A.T. Richardson Wines’ low-intervention approach, combined with its low-yielding vineyard, produces refined wines that are approachable in their youth, yet still age remarkably well. The company prides itself on creating wines that are true representatives of the land in which they were grown.

A.T. Richardson Wines produces two tiers of wine. The chockstone range is focused on traditional varieties that take a modern approach to the historic Great Western region, as well as the hard hill Road series, which includes cutting-edge wines that are unique to their style and heritage.

As a James Halliday five-star-rated winery, A.T. Richardson Wines’ aim is to produce thought-provoking wines that pay homage to their heritage in the historic Great Western wine region, while also being uniquely modern. The company also offers online sales, a wine club, and winery and vineyard tours.

The winery was recently recognised at the 2018 national cool climate Wine show, with the 2016 ATR hard hill Road shiraz awarded top pick in the champion shiraz category.

Tasting Notes

ATR Chockstone Riesling
ATR Chockstone Riesling

Displaying delicate aromas of wildflowers and citrus blossoms, this riesling has a distinct mineral palate that epitomises the cool-climate Great Western vineyard. The three clones planted in the riesling block each contribute differing and vibrant characters that enhance the structure and complexity of the wine.
