Scotchmans Hill
Scotchmans Hill
Established in 1982, Scotchmans Hill is the Bellarine Peninsula’s oldest and largest winery, crafting premium wines shaped by the region’s cool maritime climate. For more than forty years, it has set the standard for quality and is proudly recognised among James Halliday’s Top 100 Australian Wineries.
Set high on the rolling hills of the Bellarine, the estate offers sweeping views across Port Phillip Bay to the Melbourne skyline. The cellar door is housed in a French-provincial style farmhouse, nestled among the vines on the 120-hectare property. Visitors are welcomed with warmth and generosity, and the experience has been recognised with honours including ‘Best Large Cellar Door’ in the Geelong region by Gourmet Traveller WINE and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
Scotchmans Hill is known for its strong focus on quality and hospitality. Guests are invited to explore the full range of wines through a guided tasting, enjoy a glass or bottle, or simply relax and take in the views.
The on-site restaurant serves a seasonal menu showcasing local produce, paired with wines from the Scotchmans Hill range. During the warmer months, the undercover courtyard has retractable doors that open to display the gardens and cityscape view, offering a relaxed and scenic dining experience. The Wine Garden that sits alongside the restaurant offers a serene setting to enjoy a bottle alongside cheese and charcuterie boards while soaking up the picturesque surroundings. Among its many accolades, Scotchmans Hill was awarded the Trevor Mast Trophy for Best Shiraz at the Melbourne Royal Wine Awards for its 2021 Shiraz – a landmark achievement and the first of its kind for a Geelong wine.
From first-time tasters to seasoned enthusiasts, every guest is guided by the knowledgeable, passionate team dedicated to making wine approachable and enjoyable. For a more personalised experience, seated tastings in the private room with charcuterie are available upon request. Located in the heart of the Bellarine Peninsula, Scotchmans Hill is a standout destination for lovers of exceptional wine, regional cuisine, and stunning views.
