Tucked into the undulating hills of Beechworth, Baarmutha Wines is a true hands-on winery. Founded by Vinny and Sharon Webb, this small-scale estate champions a thoughtful, low-intervention approach to winemaking, where every decision is made with care, and every bottle tells the story of the land.

The Estate Chardonnay is a standout expression of Beechworth’s cool climate. Using traditional Burgundian clones, the fruit is wild fermented in barrel and left to age gracefully in the underground cellar, creating a wine that’s layered, textural and quietly powerful.

The Estate Shiraz is equally compelling, fermented in small open vats with wild yeasts and gently pressed, it captures the region’s natural spice and structure while remaining beautifully balanced and expressive. The sangiovese, grown and handled with the same light touch, offers bright cherry fruit, savoury complexity and fine tannins – a nod to both tradition and place.

New to the lineup is a vibrant riesling sourced from the nearby King Valley – born from more than forty years of friendship between the Darling and Webb families. This wine brings a lively contrast to the estate wines, offering freshness and purity with citrus-driven charm. Also making its debut this summer is a sparkling blanc de blanc, crafted entirely from estate-grown chardonnay. Made in the traditional method, undergoing secondary fermentation in bottle, and aged on lees. It promises elegance and lift, just in time for festive gatherings and warm evenings.
